Program Description

Texas State Academic Program director will be there 24/7 with the students to assist and advise. Our coordinators in Heredia will also be there 24/7 to assist in any possible way and to make sure every student learns the language, lives the culture, and enjoys their stay. Heredia, Costa Rica promises to be an exciting destination for Texas State Students.

Academic Program Director:

Dr. Sergio M. Martínez was born in the State of Baja California, México. He has lived in the states of California, Arizona and Texas. He has been teaching Spanish and Latin American literature and culture at Texas State University since 2005. He loves traveling and enjoys directing study abroad program. He has directed programs in Valladolid, Spain; San José and Heredia, Costa Rica; Guadalajara and Querétaro, México.

Course Options

The course options on this program are:

  • SPAN 2310 Intermediate Spanish I
  • SPAN 2320 Intermediate Spanish II
  • SPAN 4390* Studies in Spanish Culture, Language or Literature

*May be repeated once for additional credit.

Students must enroll in two courses.
