Biography: I received my M.A. in German Language and Literature from the University of New Mexico, where I taught first year languages courses, an accelerated second year course, continuing education, and a course at UNM’s Deutsche Sommerschule immersion program in the Taos Ski Valley.

Beyond teaching, I have served as the Assistant Coordinator at UNM Deutsche Sommerschule and more recently here at Texas State University, I work as an onsite coordinator with my colleague, Ewa Siwak, to organize the Texas State German Contest, the largest German language and culture contest in the nation for high school students.

My scholastic focus is primarily on German Cinema, and my teaching focus is on facilitating a student-centered communicative approach, which hopefully fosters not only the development of excellent language skills, but also a love of learning the German language and of learning in general.

Couses Taught: First and second year German and independent studies in German Cinema, science, and a study in current discussions about the linguistic challenges in the German language in adapting a 3rd person singular gender-neutral pronoun.
