Journals

The Department of Modern Languages at Texas State University is home to two academic journals and to a student poetry journal published in Spanish.

  • Letras Hispanas: Revista de Literatura y Cultura is a peer-reviewed, open-access online journal dedicated to publishing scholarly essays that engage topics in connection with Spanish, Latin American, and US Latino literatures and cultures.
  • Al principio is student poetry journal published by the Epsilon Beta Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi National Spanish Honors Society. Written exclusively in Spanish, the journal gives students the opportunity to publish their creative work. We also welcome contributions from faculty and staff. Send poems to Dr. David Navarro.
  • CALICO: the Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium is an international organization dedicated to research and development in the use of computer technology in language learning: computer-assisted language learning (CALL). The CALICO Journal, a thrice-yearly publication, is devoted to the dissemination of research on the use of technology in language learning.
